Precision-Driven Bike Repair

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Mark - a Cytech qualified professional cycle mechanic, cycling enthusiast and racer. I’m also the former owner of The Bike Barn Foulden, a highly successful cycle repair business.

What experience do I have?

I’ve been working on bikes for over 20 years.

During that time, I’ve worked with world record holders, world enduro athletes and World Cup downhill racers. I’ve built bikes for ultra-endurance athletes competing at the highest levels, as well as national record holders and influencers.

Most importantly, I’ve worked with many local cyclists, keeping their bikes running at their best for whatever challenges they take on - from events to social rides.

There aren’t many types of bikes I haven’t worked on or built, from £14,000 race bikes to folding bikes, recumbents (including full frame-up builds), all disciplines of competition bikes, e-bikes, MTBs and even trikes.

I’ve also worked for Madison UK, the UK’s largest cycle distributor, handling leading brands including Shimano, DT Swiss, Vittoria and Maxxis.

Qualifications:
Cytech Level 2

What disciplines have I competed in?

I’ve competed in:

  • National downhill, enduro and 4X racing

  • Local cross-country (XC)

  • Regional cyclocross (CX)

  • Time trials (TT) and road racing (Category 3), riding for Team Velo Culture

My Focus

In the past, I pushed to do everything - stocking as many brands, bikes and accessories as possible.

This time around, with far more experience on both sides of the trade, I’m taking a different approach.

My focus is simple: to keep things more refined and concentrate 100% on service and repair. The goal is to keep as many bikes as possible in the best working condition they can be.

No shortcuts - just high quality repairs and servicing, and delivering the best possible experience for every customer.
